Rupert Sanderson heels

These retailed for £350 but I got them much cheaper at the sample sale... I was so seduced by the prospect of having these shoes I overlooked they didn't quite fit or that I had nothing to wear them with. Such is the life of a shoe whore. They are a petrol blue with pearlised effect. They have a mini stacked platform under the heel and front of the shoe and a peep toe. They are so unusual and well crafted I can't really describe them - click on the pictures to see more detail.

Size 5/38 - but they are a narrow fit so may also fit a size 37/4.5. Unworn, in box with dust bag.

Summer dress

This chocolate brown dress has an empire line and a racer style back - with two spaghetti straps going to between the shoulder blades. It drops from under the bust to a full dress and has a self belt. I can't believe I managed to get into it when I was full term pregnant - but I did! It is made of cotton jersey and comes to below the knee. Looks great with a hat and flats.

French Connection, Size 6, good second hand condition.

summer heels

These are platform, woven sandals with stacked effect heel - in a dark tan. They have a slingback which is elasticised - no buckle. The heel on one is scuffed - shown. They look great with jeans but never fitted me well, even though I thought they were cool (hence the scuffing).

Size 38/5 from Shelleys.

pale peach dress

I got this dress from Dispensary in Newburgh Street, W1. It recently closed but it used to champion up and coming new designers. This dress is made from a very lightweight fabric with a crinkled effect. It is backless, with very thin ribbon straps from front to back. It is gathered under the bust and has a sort of apron effect with a half sash under the bust that gives way on either side. I don't know what size it is or what the outer fabric is - it is lined with a linen or lose weave cotton. The label only says "ell & cee" with no care instructions or size information. However, I bought it for probably too much money and it looks good. I am a size 8 but I think it would look better on a 10 or 12. If you are busty you would need to put on thicker ribbon straps!

White western belt

From a vintage shop, size small to medium. Is embossed with a western style floral pattern.

Vintage cheong sam

I bought this from a vintage shop in Barcelona - when I was really, really tiny. It is 1950s or early 1960s and looks to be home made. It is an unusual wool and silk pattern on a mesh back ground. Fully lined with silk. It sits on the knee with short side splits and the usual high neckline. Even when I was a size 6 I used to have to fasten the neck with a broach as it is really small.
Size 6, excellent vintage condition.

Ely Kashimoto bikini

This is really fab but I just never wore it. Bought in Shop in Soho some years ago it is from one of their first collections. The pants sit very low.

lace dress

This is a pretty sixties inspired dress. It is made of cream silk lace and the body is fully lined. There is a ruffle down the front of chest with three cut glass buttons. It is high necked and fitted to a size 8 - I had it adjusted by a tailor in Soho so it was more shaped around the waist than the original design.

Size 8, made by a New Zealand label called Helen Cherry.

Another scarf

This was a vintage find so I can't say anything about how old it was etc. You can see it is pink and brown in a very loose knit. It is about 2m long and the fabric feels like viscose.

shorts

Here are two pairs of short shorts, they are not too short in the leg so will suit most people - read: they are not hot pants. Both sit quite low on the waist.

The navy pair has false flat pockets with gold nautical style buttons on the front, side slash pockets and rear pockets. They are size 8 from Mango or Zara.

The brown pair is very similar, the fabric has a bit of stretch in them. they are size 8 and the brand is Glassons - a New Zealand budget label.

clown top

This top reminds me of Alison Goldfrapp on the cover of their last album... or that's what I thought when I bought it. Never worn. It is blue and white stripe with a ruffle around neck and a tie at the back of neck - as shown. The fabric is a very light weight cotton.
Size 8 Topshop, unworn.

v. useful little summer dress

This dress is really lovely. It fits and clings in all the right places. The neck is scooped and the sleeves gather to the elbow and are slashed from the neck to the elbow. The fabric is a slinky jersey viscose and the pattern of pale orange, orange, cream and tan concentric circles are very studio 54 on sea.... would that be Cafe del Mar??? Great with heels or flats and a holiday ideal as needs no ironing.

Size 8 from a short lived shop called Uth, about 10 years old. In excellent condition - the elastic in neck and cuffs just replaced.

Bronze boots

Slouchy bronze boots, with a high heel and can be folded to sit on knee. Incredibly comfortable. Look great over thick tights or skinny jeans. V difficult to photograph boots in a way that does them justice!

From Shelley's size 39 - but I am 38 and they fit well.

funny little tee

Bought this from the East London thrift store a few months ago, I love it but can't find the right thing to wear it with. Cap sleeve, boat neck line. I think it is early 90s from H&M.

ostrich feather and crepe dress coat

This is an early 90s bit of flamboyance that will be to the taste of very few! but I loved it when I got it and I still do.... just no longer have the life style to wear it.

It comes to just above the knee, with shape around the waist, has exaggerated collar that goes to the tip of the shoulders and a flap pocket on each hip. Fully lined. It is a bit like a camp pirate coat - the feathers float as you move. Is by John Richmond. This is in excellent condition and looks great with body-con dress, OTT boots or however you want to wear it.

Size 8/10

patent pumps with buckle

Very good condition, hardly worn. A sole put on to the shoe as original sole was leather and this prolongs life of shoe. Has patent buckles on front. Look great with cropped and skinny jeans.

salmon pink crochet scarf

salmon pink scarf with a silver lurex thread running through it. Has fringed ends and is about 1.5m long so looks good wound loosely a few times around neck.
Good condition, from a charity shop so no idea of provenance.

denim skirt

worn effect denim pencil skirt, button fly with split at back. sits fairly low on the waist. Two rear pockets.

French Connection, size 8.

fuschia suede box bag

A small box bag, made by Osprey London. Has small handle at the top and eyelets where a cross body strap would have gone (it was not with the bag when I bought it but I have a spare chain one if anyone is interested in it). Comes with the original dust bag.

Excellent vintage condition, I'd date it early 90s/late 80s.
